Fatty Liver Diet Foods: What to Eat and What Not to Eat

Having a guide on ideal fatty liver diet foods will make it easier for you to undergo that diet as you shop through the stores and local organic markets. Fatty liver, a reversible condition, occurs when excessive amounts of triglycerides accumulate in the liver. As a result, liver cells are replaced by fats, which makes a fatty liver.

Here is a list of fatty liver diet foods that you should load up on or avoid in order to have a successful diet.

1. Go for Fruits and VegetablesFresh fruits and vegetables are high in good nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants that are good for the liver. These foods will improve the function of the liver and help reverse such unhealthy condition. So load up on organic and raw fruits and vegetables, such as apples, kiwi, pears, and lots of green vegetables.

2. Go for Whole GrainsBecause of the complex carbohydrates found in whole grains, these carbohydrates would not turn to fats at the same speed as simple carbohydrates. In other words, these foods with complex carbohydrates are much better choices. These complex carbohydrates can be found in brown rice, whole grains, bulgar wheat, and bran bread. These can also be found in pasta, instead of white rice and white bread.

3. Go for Lean MeatsLean meats should be opted for instead of red and fatty meat. Instead of eating too much pork, beef, and even processed meat (i.e. bacon), you should eat more of seafood, skinless turkey and chicken, tofu, and other lean cuts. These are low in fat and are better sources of protein than the fatty meat.

4. Go for Natural DessertsInstead of eating those milk chocolates and butter cakes topped with rich icing, choose to eat natural desserts like fruits, fruit cakes, and pies. Even when these desserts are sweet, they contain natural sugars that are healthier for your body and more helpful to your liver.

These four fatty liver diet foods choices can truly help you in your treatment, as long as you also start to avoid bad habits and start exercising regularly.
